Leicester’s The Curry Fever wins Restaurant of the Year award
The Curry Fever in Leicester has won the Restaurant of the Year award in the Asian Voice Political and Public Life Awards 2011. The owners of The Curry Fever, Sunil Anand and his brother Anil Anand, will join the likes of Ed Miliband MP, Leader of the Oppoistion, Michael Gove MP, Secretary of State for Education and Tariq Anwar film editor of the multi BAFTA award winning film The King’s Speech at today’s ceremony.
The ‘Asian Voice Political and Public Life Awards’ are held annually to honour people who have made a special impact in the preceding 12 months. The ceremony will be held in the Members’ Dining Room of the House of Commons, and will be attended by many high profile figures from the Asian community in the UK.
The Curry Fever, founded over thirty years ago, champion fine North Indian Punjabi and East African cuisine and include on their menu dishes still enjoed by generations of people including royalty and heads of state. Having already achieved an array of accolades including ‘Best Restaurant in the Midlands’ by the Good Curry Guide today The Curry Fever stands as one of the most successful restaurants providing excellence to a multicultural clientele.
Sunil Anand said, ‘Both my brother and I are very honoured and humbled to receive this prestigious award; it has been hard work and with a lot of personal sacrifices We would like to thank the judging panel and the readers of Asian Voice for recognising our achievements and selecting us from such a huge competitive market. It will be a pleasure to receive this award at the House of Commons.’
